During the 2025 EAVCA Annual Conference, the East Africa Venture Capital Association (EAVCA) and the Nairobi International Financial Centre (NIFC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen collaboration in support of the region’s private capital market. The agreement focuses on promoting investment, advancing policy engagement, facilitating knowledge sharing, and mobilizing resources to grow the sector. The conference featured a keynote address by the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, who highlighted the importance of local and private capital in driving economic growth.

Through this partnership, EAVCA and NIFC aim to attract both domestic and international investors, advocate for a conducive regulatory environment, and support initiatives that strengthen the capabilities of fund managers, startups, and institutional investors. The collaboration also seeks to mobilize technical and financial resources to implement initiatives that enhance transparency, access, and participation across East Africa’s private capital ecosystem.

This MoU reiterates EAVCA’s role as a bridge connecting public stakeholders, local businesses, and private investors across East Africa, leveraging dialogue and industry insights to create a sustainable, informed regional ecosystem. It advances economic growth, social and environmental welfare, and wealth creation in the region, while reinforcing East Africa’s position as a leading hub for private capital and marking a significant step toward building a well-regulated and resilient market across the region.
