DESCRIPTION:AIJA – the International Association of Young Lawyers- is looking forward to welcoming you to the seminar on ‘The Silicon Savannah: Emerging Trends\, Doing Business in (and with) Kenya and Africa’s Tech Ecosystem’ from 22 to 25 March 2023 in Nairobi\, Kenya. \nNairobi\, the capital and the largest city of Kenya\, is dubbed “Silicon Savannah” due to its strong tech ecosystem\, acting as a regional hub. Both multinational companies (MNCs)\, and those specifically in the tech and fintech sphere\, have made strong investments in the country\, boosting foreign direct investment (FDI) in it too. It is in fact said that Kenya is the cradle of mobile money (mobile phone-based money payments/transactions)\, thanks to M-Pesa. \nDuring this seminar\, AIJA will delve into the latest trends in law\, tech\, sustainability\, funding\, and industry best practices. We will also explore the social aspects of Environmental\, Social\, and Governance (ESG) and its impact on investing in Africa’s Tech Industry. Additionally\, we will discuss the African Continental Free Trade Area and its potential for African development and sustainability.
